General rules

The S.I.B.M. board, as agreed in the past, decided that each Author should participate in a maximum of three scientific contributions (oral or poster presentations). The selection of the submitted contributions will be done by Topic Coordinators and validated by the S.I.B.M. board. Only the contributions concerning the proposed topics will be accepted as oral presentations. Their number will be proportional to the time available. Poster presentations may regard the 4 proposed topics, the competences of the scientific committees and any other subject.

At least one Author for each submitted contribution and not the same one for different papers, should be registered in the congress within the deadline of April, 30, 2010. At least one S.I.B.M. or MBA member should be included among the Authors of each submitted paper. The S.I.B.M. board and the organizing Committee, by mutual consent, will permit possible exceptions. Posters (maximum size 70x100) will be exposed all the Congress period long. Short presentations will be done by the author in front of the poster at the time shown in the final program.

Author instructions

Authors wishing to submit a paper should send by e-mail to the Segreteria Tecnica SIBM (sibmzool@unige.it), within the deadline of March, 15, 2010, a two page text for poster presentations and a text up to four page long for oral presentations and lectures, carefully following the instructions that shortly will be available on the SIBM web site.

All the texts of the accepted papers (oral presentations and posters) will be included in the pre-print volume available online. Afterwards all the papers regularly presented to the congress audience, and whose content was not contested, shall be published in the Biologia Marina Mediterranea journal as proceedings of the 41st S.I.B.M. Congress. Authors that received criticism have the possibility to modify and resubmit their text within a week from the end of the congress (i.e. before June, 18, 2010). The proceedings of the 41st S.I.B.M. Congress will be distributed by surface mail to all the Congress attendants and to S.I.B.M. members up to date with their annual dues.

The texts in extenso of the lectures (10-15 pages), to be submitted within the end of June, shall be also included in the proceeding book.

Information about poster presentation will be given shortly.

The Segreteria Tecnica will send a message, by the end of the 22nd of March 2010, to the reference authors, with a list of the received notes. Reference authors should verify their work/s is reported in the list. Any possible lack should be immediately point out to the Segreteria Tecnica.

We specify that the Segreteria Tecnica SIBM will send all the received papers to the Coordinators of Themes. The choice of accepted works will be validated by the Consiglio Direttivo, therefore the attached list of works and their partition in different themes and committees must be considered as provisional.

Papers that have not followed all the suggested rules, will not be taken into account; this would be strict, due to a short lapse of time for publication.

A paper will be accepted permanently for the publication in the Acts and will be inserted in the Congress program, only if at least one of the authors, and not the same one for different works, has paid the Congress entry fee. We recommend (for administrative reasons) to pay the entry fee right after having received the communication of acceptance to the Congress and to not wait the deadline of the 30th of April.
